This interview will be conducted with Kim Hye-won, a researcher at the CF1 team of Cosmax Research Institute, who was in charge of developing Bora Cushion, and Ahn Yoo-jin, a team leader.

It was an absurd request for a purple cushion.

(Kim): It's the first time that Amelie has ever asked for a cushion like this since I joined the company.I was very flustered when I received the development request (laugh).I've never used a color cushion like this before, and I've never developed it before.It's not a makeup base. What do you mean purple cushion foundation?You're really going to release this while making it?Really? I was worried.

A new purple color that you can apply all over your face.

(Kim): It was really not easy.Especially throughout the entire process of developing cushions, it was the hardest to color this purple.As I tried to match the concept of supplementing the yellow color, the purple pigment on the market was not enough, so I tried to color the new purple by mixing red and blue pigments, but it was so hard.Both colors have strong self-assertion, so even if the ratio is slightly different, the color changes too much.It turns into azalea and then dark blue...I don't even remember how many times I did a color test.

There were a lot of cushion samples that the lab sent to Amelie.But actually, there were more.I tried several on my face, and I set aside some of them as failures, and I only sent you the ones that I think I can apply on my face.There are a lot of colors that came out weird, so I couldn't send them all.

Is this going to work?I don't know...

(An): The Cosmax Institute also didn't respond very positively to the development of the Bora cushion.There are many team members who have developed purple makeup base products in the team, and they were very embarrassed at first.How can I put this on my face? I've never seen this color before.It was a frequent response.

I've done a lot of cushions, but I've never tried a color like this before, so I'm not sure, but I thought, "It'll be unrivaled if I get settled down."It's a color that didn't exist before, and it was good enough to proudly say that it was a well-made product from the perspective of the researcher.

Purple on the makeup base and purple on the cushion.the difference in color

(In): The biggest difference in color is also natural.It's not a makeup base or corrector, but it's a cushion that needs to be done with one base makeup, so we developed it to lower the saturation so that it can be a calm purple color.

So I didn't use any colorant for the makeup base or corrector.As researcher Hyewon said, there was no color suitable for the concept of supplementing yellowness as a general prescription, so we colored a new color according to the direction.It's the first color combination that hasn't been found in all base makeup products, including makeup base and color corrector.Therefore, even when you apply it all over your face, it looks natural without feeling awkward.

Not only is it yellow but it also covers pores.

(An): First of all, I focused on complementing the tone and expressing the skin rather than covering it, so it applies thinly and makes the skin clear.Usually, cushions that focus on covers have a higher powder content, so it can feel less dry and clear, but purple cushions have less powder, so it definitely feels less like that.It feels cool when you apply it.I think that's a big advantage because it's not heavy and it's expressed as if it's silky.And to make sure that the skin looks good without covering all the major flaws, we used polymer to make the basic pore cover work.But when I looked up the customer reviews, there were many reviews that they were surprised that the pores were covered well.Thank you for recognizing me.It's all planned out (laughs).

(Kim): Actually, I was really worried.I'm worried at the same time, and I was worried about whether I could match the standard color on the way to production, but I'm glad it worked out like this.After the release, I'm proud that everyone congratulated me and liked it.There are a lot of people who actually use it in the team.Please associate my name with purple cushion and call me "Purple Hyewon!"I don't think I could have done it on my own, but I think I was able to do it because my seniors helped me a lot.I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you again.

(An): Cosmax is also important to attract customers' attention because it is presenting to them, but why haven't I thought about this?It was an opportunity for me to reflect on myself.In fact, if we show our customers that we made the Amelie Bora Cushion, they'll be amazed and like it regardless of whether it's domestic or overseas.I got a lot of insights from inside the lab.So these days, even if I make the same skin tone cushion, isn't there a different skin color?I think I'm thinking about it with various directions open.
